Surface pretreatment of brass rod
In order to ensure a good adhesion between decorative coating (plating) and the surface of iron products, the oxide scale, welding slag, rust mark, grease, dirt and water on the surface of iron products must be removed as much as possible before the coating (plating) is carried out, otherwise it is easy to cause blistering, cracking, peeling and other phenomena. The so-called pretreatment refers to the use of mechanical or chemical, electrochemical and other process methods to eliminate the surface defects of iron products before coating (plating).
The main methods of removing rust and welding slag are manual treatment, mechanical treatment, spray treatment, chemical treatment (acid pickling), electrochemical treatment and flame treatment.
Manual treatment mainly uses abrasive cloth, scraper, H62 brass tube, steel wire brush, waste grinding wheel and other tools. By manual grinding, shoveling and sweeping to remove rust, oxide scale, welding slag, dust and other surface dirt.
The most commonly used tools for mechanical treatment are wind (electric) brush, derusting gun, polishing wheel, wind (electric) shovel, etc. with the help of high frequency impact and friction of mechanical force, derusting and removing dirt such as oxide skin and old paint are carried out.
Jet treatment is the use of mechanical centrifugation, compressed air, high-pressure water flow as the power, the abrasive, sand, steel shot shot shot to the surface of iron products, impact and friction off oxide scale, rust marks, old paint, molding sand, etc.
Chemical treatment is the use of special formula of acid solution to soak, dissolve iron products, through chemical reaction to remove oxide scale, rust, oil, that is the so-called “pickling”.
