Thick-walled brass tubes are light in weight, good in thermal conductivity and high in cryogenic strength. They are often used to manufacture heat exchangers (such as condensers) and to assemble cryogenic pipes in oxygen plants. Copper pipes with small diameters are often used for transporting pressurized liquids (such as lubrication systems, oil pressure systems, etc.) and pressure measuring pipes for instrumentation. Brass pipe has strong and corrosion resistance.
Thick-walled brass tubes have the following advantages: hard texture, non-corrosive, high temperature and high pressure resistance, and can be used in a variety of non-copper environments. Compared with brass pipes, many other pipes have obvious shortcomings, such as galvanized steel pipes used more in residential buildings in the past, which are very vulnerable to rust, water yellowing and water flow becoming smaller when used for a short time. There are also some materials whose strength decreases rapidly at high temperatures, which may cause potential unsafe hazards when used in hot water pipes. However, due to the melting point of copper as high as 1083 degrees, the brass pipe is almost negligible affected by the temperature of the hot water system.
