Silicon brass tube was added on the basis of copper-zinc alloy. It has high corrosion resistance in both atmosphere and sea water, and its stress corrosion cracking resistance is higher than that of general brass. The silicon content is generally below 4%. Commonly used silicon brass 80Cu-17Zn-3Si can withstand thermal pressure processing, excellent corrosion resistance, soft tensile strength of 300 MPa, elongation of 58%, suitable for making ship parts, steam pipes and pipe fittings. The lead content of this alloy should not exceed 0.01%. Otherwise, it will damage the thermoplasticity, especially the hot forging property. 65Cu-31.5Zn-1.5Si-Pb is a lead-containing silicon brass with high cutting, friction reduction and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used as a substitute for wear-resistant tin bronze.
Purpose 1: High strength, good corrosion resistance, good pressure processing under cold and hot conditions, easy welding and brazing, good wear resistance and cutting performance, but with corrosion cracking tendency, it is a substitute for wear-resistant tin bronze, used for high strength parts working under corrosion and friction conditions.
Usage 2: It has good mechanical properties, high corrosion resistance, no tendency of corrosion cracking, wear resistance, good workability under cold and hot conditions, easy welding and brazing, good cutting performance. Thermal conductivity is the lowest in brass. It is used for ship parts, steam pipe and water pipe fittings, etc.
