Softened tempered copper tubes are also available in 1.25 inch diameter 30, 45 and 60 foot coils. The connection of such a tube is to weld its ends to a specific fitting using a welding torch and a solder or brazing alloy. Due to its soft nature, the tube is easily bent to change direction, thus reducing the number of parts and the labor required. Such pipes are often used in place of lead pipes to connect the main water pipes into the building.
