Brass pipes are often used as water pipes instead of steel pipes. They are hardened and tempered and softened and tempered. A 20-foot straight tube is available for both tempered copper tubes. Softened tempered brass tubes are also available in 1.25 inch diameter 30, 45 and 60 foot coils. The connection of such a tube is to weld its ends to a specific fitting using a welding torch and a solder or brazing alloy. Due to its soft nature, the tube is easily bent to change direction, thus reducing the number of parts and the labor required. Such pipes are often used in place of lead pipes to connect the main water pipes into the building.
Naval Brass Pipe is light in weight, good in thermal conductivity and high in low temperature strength. Often used in the manufacture of heat exchange equipment (such as condensers, etc.). It is also used in the assembly of cryogenic piping in oxygen plants. Copper pipes with small diameters are often used to transport pressurized liquids (such as lubrication systems, oil pressure systems, etc.) and pressure gauges used as meters. Brass tubes are sturdy and corrosion resistant.
